RECYCLE
Pulped then back to nature
Our recycling policy
It has always been our policy to encourage Needlefresh Christmas tree customers to act responsibly when it comes to disposing of their trees. If you can dispose of your Christmas tree at home using a chipper shredder to make garden mulch please do so. Returning it back to the soil brings with it many environmental benefits.
Chipper shredders are available from most outlets that sell Christmas trees and once you have one you will be amazed by how much use they are in the garden.
If you do not have facilities at home, when you buy your Needlefresh Christmas tree ask the retailer for details as many Garden Centres offer Christmas tree recycling facilities. Alternatively contact the recycling officer at your local authority for advice.
The trees in their natural environment
our environmental responsibilities
For many years the Christmas tree growers of Europe have sustained an environmental awareness. By necessity they have planted at least 3 trees to every one harvested. Much of the land now cultivated with Christmas trees was unsustainable for other crops including larger hard and softwood trees. The trees have helped to knit together the meager soil in order that it can re-establish its fertility. The trees naturally provide an environment for wildlife; many species of birds and insects have established their own ecosystems amongst the crop.
